i deleted my meta account and it was one of the best decisions i could make

i decided that it was finally time to peace out of facebook and anything meta. it was the only meta account i had (i dont do instagram or whatsapp). i used to like facebook when it became popular in my city but it has changed so much since then. lately, it was that you would log in, see maybe 1 or 2 friends posts, then the rest of the feed became sponsored and suggested content from people/pages i did not give a fuck for (not even local stuff!). what a literal time waster. endless scrolling doesnt help here either.

i reached out to the coolest people on my friends list and left them my email, phone, and a link to this blog if they want to keep in contact or see what kind of shit i am posting on the internet. and that was that.

other than a reddit account, and a youtube channel that i dont really post to, this is the only online outlet ill be at. it feels good actually, kind of like the old internet in the late 90's to mid 2000's.

i dunno, meta is actually fucked and the amount of data collection and what it gets used for feels like an overreach of privacy. i think the same about big tech companies and the whole AI rush that is going on. i just dont think the internet of today is any good compared to what we used to have.
